At the links listed below you can find the State of Florida webpage regarding the state Gun Laws, including a reciprocity chart for the state. Do not rely on any legal information that you find on any website, always consult an attorney licensed in the applicable state who specializes in the applicable law.

Florida really has their stuff together here. They probably have the best webpage of all the states I’ve seen so far. There is tons of info on the Florida page, I’ll list some of the links that I think are most useful.

  1. Florida overview page, definitely check it out.
  2. Florida weapons and firearms laws.
  3. Reciprocity.
  4. When it’s legal to use deadly force in self defense.
  5. Renewal Process.
  6. States that recognize a Florida license.
  7. Safety Tips.

Here’s an interesting tidbit. Did you know that Section 790.174, Florida Statutes, requires a loaded firearm in the home to be stored in a locked box container or secured with a trigger lock if the owner reasonably knows that a child under the age 16 can gain access to the firearm. A violation of this law is a misdemeanor. That’s pretty cool and I learned it on the Florida safety tip page.

Florida has an excellent program with tons of info. The rest of the states could really take a lesson from Florida.
